Happy Thanksgiving!!

The Power of Kids team wants to share a few things to do on Thanksgiving.

The Perry Kids made some turkey hats.

Materials:

Brown Paper Bag
Permanent Marker
Scissors
Brown, Red/Orange, & Yellow Paper
Glue Stick/Tape
2 White Pom-poms (optional)

Step 1: Cut the paper bag to make 2 strips that can be put together to make a band for your head. Trace the bottom of a cup on the remaining paper bag (this will be the head).
Step 2: Cut feathers out of the yellow and orange (or red--you choose). Make them an oval and cut little nicks into them to make them look like real feathers.
Step 3: Cut a beak and gobble out of the red and yellow paper.
Step 4: Trace your hands twice on brown or red paper, these will be the wings
Step 5: If you want to make the head stick out a bit, get a little bit of cardboard and fold it accordion style.
Step 6: Glue the facial features on and draw eyes. Glue the bands together to fit on your head. Glue the feathers, wings and head on the body. There you have it---a turkey hat.
